This web site is devoted to restoring fundamentals into the Cecil County Public School mathematics curriculum, and to provide our children with rigorous mathematics that promotes greater achievement.

The CCPS Math “Projects” – and Why You Should Be Concerned

1.  Everyday Mathematics:  Elementary School
 - The authors’ belief about long division:  “it is simply counter-
productive to invest many hours of precious time on pencil and paper methods
because the [answer] can be found quickly and accurately with a calculator”

2.  Connected Math:  Middle School General Mathematics
- Ranks as one of the worst curricula in the US by mathematicians

3.  Integrated Math:  A pitiful substitute for Algebra and Geometry !
- Covers too many topics too quickly, and in no logical order
- CCPS high school grads are among the least prepared to start
college math courses in all of Maryland !
